Free Topic : A Good Friend

The definition of a good friend:
A good friend is someone who is caring, loving and above all an entertainment factor in your life. Not a depressing one all the while. And as the saying goes a “friend in need is a friend in deed”, abide by it and you will definitely find your true friend.
When do you find your  a good friend?
If you really want to know who is a good friend then just look back to the time when you were in difficult moments. The one who was there to console you is definitely the one who is your true friend. A good friend never fails to see the right in you and will always take a little courage to correct the wrong in you. A good friend will help you in all your times of trouble and will never say ‘no’, if the time and situation demands it.

Garra Rufa Fish

This is my cousin's story about his strange treatment. He had psoriasis around his knees and on the bottom of his feet. His father took him to Turkey to a place called Kars region. In this region there are treatment centers around basin which includes a small fish called Garra Rufa. This type of fish lives in mineral water with a constant temperature in summer and winter which is about 36-37 ° C. Garra Rufa fish eat dead shells from human skin which help to recover from psoriasis disease. In addition, after he had this treatment he felt well and some of his dead skin disappeared but unfortunately it came back after awhile. He recommend this type of treatment because he think it keeps your body clean and healthy even for a short period.

Crime in Calgary

In fact, I don’t know if Calgary safe comparing with other cities in Canada but I feel it is. When I compare between my home town and Calgary I found that, my home town is safer than Calgary specially on weekends. What I mean, In weekend people getting more drunk which you will never see in my country. When the people getting drunk they became more aggressive because they almost lose the control for their behavior. They start to scream and shout through the other people also they start to throw cars and buildings by anything they may hold or smash windows for the parking cars. I think, this only thing that I am concerned about her in Calgary.

Rules of Etiquette

Each culture has different rules of etiquette. For example, in Saudi Arabia it is a rule of etiquette to invite your new neighbor to visit you at your home and make a party for him. However, in Indonesia people do not make the same thing for the new neighbor which is regular in the society. Also, in my country it is important that you eat without making noisy sound but in Indonesia if you making noise during chewing the food no one will think this guy is rude because it is not in their etiquette culture. In my opinion, the solution to get along with each culture's etiquette is that people should learn the etiquette's rules of each country they wish to visit to avoid the misunderstanding.

Video Games

Video games getting more familiar these days around the world. Indeed, children like them more than other games. I think video games have some advantages however, they have a lot of disadvantages. One of this disadvantages is losing sense of sight by spending more time concentrating to TV's screen. Also, when the children stay for long time on their place with no moving their muscles will be frozen and not growing. In addition, these type of games separate the children from the real life which make them unfamiliar with the surrounding and losing the skills of communication. Because of these reasons, video games is not the best games for our children.

Crime and Punishment

In this century the crime increased more and more. These crimes spread around the world for a lot of reasons. However, being a victim is harmful specially for no reason. This one story of my husband's friend who is a student from Kuwait here in Calgary. The story started during he went back to his home from his friend's party. He was alone in the way to home and he was holding his back page which had his laptop. He took the C-train from the Sunnyside station to downtown station at 10:30 pm. Unfortunately, he have ridden an empty cabin and during that time five drunk people rode the same cabin and starting  to fight him and asked him to give them his laptop and  wallet  but he refused which made them angry. They started to beat him and one of them used his knife in the student face making some injury in his cheek and one of his eye. After, that they run away from the train in the next station and the victim went directly to the train driver asking him to call the police. At the end of this story the police arrested these guys and the victim  went to hospital to treated his injury. I hope the justice take place in this case and give him the right thing .

Hand Writing & Computer Writing

In the past, everyone was using his hand to write a letter to friends or others. On the other hand, this time people are using computer to write anything. In addition, hand writing is not easy for everyone to create a beautiful font. In contrast, using computer writing is more easy, fast and you can choose any type of fonts. As a result, people go with computer to make their life keep up with the modern time.

City Life vs. Country Life

In my opinion, living in a country is better than living in a city. In country you can enjoy your time with nature. There are a lot of fields and woods that include green trees and different kinds of crops. Can you imagine this picture with me a lot of green trees, organic fruit and vegetables, smell of the wet soil, sunrise and sunset. WOW it's a wonderful picture. Also, living in a country is comfortable because it's quiet, calm and you can get anywhere very easily. You won't find stuck in traffic, rush hour, crowded or any kinds of noise. In addition, you can have a new experience about the birth of animals and how the farmer raise them. I hope you agree with me that living in a country is better than in a city.

Now I'm studying ESL at university of Calgary. I like travelling around the world and swimming. I've visited a lot of countries such as Malaysia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Canada. My favorite food are Arabic, India and Indonesia. I miss my family and my country too much and I wish I could go back soon at least for one week.
